OUR HISTORY

Our History

Enon Baptist Church began its journey of service to the Lord in the Alto community in 1842. The name “Enon” is the place in the Bible where John the Baptist was baptizing near Salim.(John 3:23) It was named then in the Bible because the place had many fresh water springs. Enon Baptist Church also has many fresh water springs even on the church grounds today. Our symbol of the large oak tree is symbolic of the strength we, as Christians, get from the springs of God’s grace and knowledge through the Holy Spirit because of the cost of His Son Jesus Christ who died for us. The Church grounds are surrounded by huge trees.
